Frequently Asked Questions
What type of air conditioner should I get for my home?
Not all homes are suited for ducted air conditioning. The best way to find out what air conditioning system is the best for you is to call us. We’ll organise an onsite inspection and talk you through our range of air conditioners and the differences. That way you can make an educated decision and you’re not buying off a retail floor, to get home and find that it’s not going to cool or heat your home efficiently.
How long does it take to install an air conditioner?
It depends on the type of system you are having installed and the size of home or business. Typically, it takes about a day if you have opted for a split system— consists of an inside unit and an outdoor unit—while it can take up to a week to install ducted air conditioning.
How often should I get my ducted air conditioning serviced?
We recommend getting your ducted air conditioning unit serviced at least once every 12 months. The filter should be replaced once every 3 years and the outdoor coil cleaned as well. How often should I get my split system serviced? To maintain the energy efficiency of your air conditioner we recommend a full service once every year. We also advise getting your filters cleaned at least once every 6 months. You are able to do this yourself by removing the filter and vacuuming, washing and rinsing. However, if you prefer we are able to do this for you. The outdoor unit should also be kept free of rubbish and debris. Filters may need to be cleaned more often if you are using the unit every day, particularly during summer.
What is zoning?
When you have ducted air conditioning your system can be divided into different areas or zones. This allows you to turn off the vents in areas of your home or office that are not being used. For example; on hot summer nights you’ll want your bedroom kept at a comfortable temperature, but you don’t need the air conditioning blasting throughout the rest of the house while you’re sleeping. It means you can heat or cool your property without wasting energy.
